Jim Christian’s philosophy of therapy derives from the word “Journey.” Every moment of life is full of decisions that lead you somewhere down the path of life’s journey. Sometimes this path can be uncertain, difficult, and we find ourselves “stuck” in our thinking or we lack the ability or skills to move any further. Jim feels it is important to provide a non-judgmental atmosphere to help you explore these difficulties and help you come to a deeper understanding of yourself while seeing yourself as an individual person with your own, unique needs and goals.

Jim has years of experience as a therapist working in private practice and a community health site which includes working with adults, families, and married couples and has worked with a broad spectrum of presenting problems including depression, anxiety, personality disorder, conflict resolution, behavior modification, marriage difficulties, self-esteem, life transition, grief, cognitive distortions, and Christian counseling.

Jim has been trained in DBT, CBT, person centered therapy, Gottman method, existential therapy, motivational interview, family systems and a broad variety of techniques based on you as an individual.

Jim is a Minnesota Board approved supervisor for those who are seeking their licensure as a  Marriage and Family Therapist.

When Jim is not working, he enjoys spending time with my wife of 36 years,  Leslie, their Pugs “Hoss” and “Conrad”, playing drums, participating in church events, or working on his pinball collection, which he considers his “happy place.”

Anna Rajala received her Master of Science from Divine Mercy University and is currently working towards licensure as a Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). She completed her undergraduate degree in Rehabilitation and Human Services with a minor in Chemical Dependency from The University of North Dakota. Anna completed her undergraduate practicum in an inpatient Chemical Dependency and Co-occurring Mental Health facility; she completed her Graduate practicum and internship experiences at Children’s Mental Health Services. She has experience working with children, adolescents and adults in individual and group counseling in intensive outpatient and inpatient therapy programs.
Through personal experiences of loss and hardship, Anna discovered a passion for walking alongside others and undoing the experience of aloneness in grief and suffering. She first discovered a desire to accompany others in their healing journeys as she mentored college women seeking freedom from addictive behaviors. She cherished hearing the unique stories of these students while working with them to cultivate a sense of their own self-worth and gifts.
Anna’s practice uses a relational approach and draws upon Internal Family Systems, somatic approaches, emotion-focused methods, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, solution-focused, Gottman method for couples, and spiritual integration when desired by the Client. She has experience working with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, substance use issues, adjustment and transition concerns, trauma, grief and loss, self-harm, and body image concerns.
Convicted of the dignity and uniqueness of each person, Anna is passionate about collaborating with her clients to empower them to discover inner strength, connection, freedom, and hope for healing and change.
